Job Summary
We need a CAREGIVER for Mo to Fr 5:00pm -9:00 pm for North Barrington Client.
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and group homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by delivering personalized care tailored to their unique needs. This role requires a blend of physical, emotional, and practical support to ensure the well-being and comfort of those under your care.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' health status.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia care needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, nursing homes, or long-term care is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is required; certification preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility support.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
