Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Skills Trainer to join our team. This role involves working closely with an individual with brain, to enhance their daily living skills and promote independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in, behavioral health, caregiving, and will be committed to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for our client.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to an individual with brain injury in various settings, including home and community environments.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement individualized training programs tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Client requires assistance transferring from wheelchair.
- Collect data on client progress and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote skill development and community involvement.
- Drive clients to appointments or community events as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or brain injury is highly desirable.
- Background in social work, or behavioral health preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Ability to manage behaviors using proven behavior management strategies.
- Experience in home & community care settings is beneficial.
- Valid driver's license is required for transportation responsibilities.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
