Position Summary
The Membership and Member Services Manager strengthens the HBA’s membership base through recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives. This role leads outreach to prospective members, supports renewals and onboarding, and promotes participation in association programs and events. The Manager also coordinates sponsorship sales and recognition while maintaining accurate membership records. Key Responsibilities:
Membership Recruitment & Retention
- Collaborate with HBA staff on the development of membership recruitment and renewal plans and materials.
- Lead the outreach to prospective members and follow up on leads.
- Coordinate with staff to ensure dues invoicing and renewal communications support goals.
- Conduct follow-ups with non-renewing members to gather feedback.
- Maintain recruitment and retention lists to track outreach and results.
Member Engagement & Support
- Manage the onboarding of new members and distribution of welcome materials.
- Promote member benefits, discounts, and opportunities through regular communication with members and prospective members.
Events & Programs
- Work with the HBA team to coordinate member events, networking programs, and meetings.
- Manage event registration, vendor communication, and on-site logistics.
- Coordinate sponsorship sales, fulfillment and recognition for events and programs.
- Contribute to event communications and materials.
Database & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the association’s CRM/database.
- Assist with data integrity and recordkeeping.
- Provide general administrative support for membership and event functions.
Communications & Visibility
- Provide membership-related content for newsletters, emails, and social media.
- Assist in the promotion of membership programs, benefits, and upcoming events.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in membership coordination, customer service, or event planning.
- Proven sales experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn and use association database software (CRM).
- Valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work occasional evening events (approximately 1–2 per month).
Preferred Qualifications
- Business-to-business sales experience.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit trade association or the home building industry.
- Experience working with vendors, volunteers, and program delivery.
Work Environment & Special Demands
- Primarily office-based position with frequent member interaction.
- Events may require standing, walking, or lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Regular travel within the four-county region; rare occasional travel outside the area.
- Must have access to a vehicle and maintain a good driving record.
- Some outdoor event participation required.
