What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Secretary position at Home Bound Home Health?
- Patient Scheduling & Coordination:
- Organize and manage in‑home nursing schedules to ensure patients receive consistent, timely care.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate urgent needs, hospital discharges, or family requests.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about visit times and any changes.
- Insurance Verification & Authorizations:
- Obtain pre‑authorizations for skilled nursing visits, treatments, or specialized equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with payer requirements.
- On‑Call Rotation:
- Participate in the company’s on‑call rotation to provide support outside of regular business hours.
- Respond promptly to urgent patient needs, scheduling adjustments, or family concerns.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism when handling after‑hours calls to ensure continuity of care.
- Patient & Family Interaction:
- Serve as a compassionate and professional point of contact for patients and their families.
- Build trust by listening attentively, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive care experience in the home.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with nurses, caregivers, and administrative staff to maintain smooth operations.
- Support colleagues by being flexible and dependable, especially during staffing changes or emergencies.
- Dependability & Professionalism:

Must pass drug screen and background check
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
