Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, suites, and public spaces to verify cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation in accordance with hotel standards
- Identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance attention and communicate these needs promptly to the housekeeping team
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols
- Verify that all cleaning equipment is used correctly, maintained properly, and stored safely after use
- Assist with floor cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, and floor care to support the housekeeping team when needed
- Enforce sanitation procedures to uphold health regulations and prevent contamination or hazards
- Support hotel emergency procedures by being prepared to respond swiftly to safety concerns or incidents involving custodial staff or guests
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within a hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, and sanitation standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with guests and staff
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all guests and staff
- Knowledge of hospital-grade cleaning practices, chemical handling safety data sheets (SDS), and janitorial best practices
