What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Nurse (RN) - Float Pool position at Holzer Health System?
The Float Nurse will work under the supervision of the Manager and/or to deliver direct patient care following the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice, and code of ethics within a Patient and Family Centered Care Model.
The Float Nurse will be responsible for scheduling their shifts on the float schedule to reflect when they are available to work. Based on where the greatest need for shift coverage is, the float nurse will be assigned to work in one of the following departments: cardiac care, medical/surgical care, or patient rehabilitation prior to the start of their shift. If the need for coverage changes at any point during this shift, the float nurse may be reassigned to cover that need.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- Graduate of an approved Nursing Education program.
- Minimum 2-year nursing experience within an Acute Care setting
- Current RN license in the State of Ohio
- BLS required through the American Heart Association
- ACLS recommended
