What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant/STNA position at Holzer Health System?
Works under the supervision of the Licensed Nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients. Performs other duties as required.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Documented competency acceptable in certain circumstances.
- STNA Requirement:
o All aides hired in must complete the course work required and successfully pass the state test for nursing assistants within 90 days of hire.
o Current nursing assistants have 12 months to complete course work and state testing.
o Exceptions include aides with 10 years of Holzer aide experience or currently enrolled into healthcare course work.
o Any STNA certified outside the state of Ohio, must complete the Nurse Aide Request for Reciprocity form and submit to the state of Ohio.
o Annually, 8 hours must be scheduled in post-acute to maintain STNA requirements. As well as meeting continuing education requirements each year.
- Prior experience in a comparable acute facility preferred.
