What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant/ STNA (Post Acute) position at Holzer Health System?
Position Summary
- Works under the supervision of the Licensed Nurse. Performs tasks related to basic nursing care, and additional procedures according to documented competency.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- Must be at least 16 years or older.
- STNA Requirement:
o All aides hired in must complete the course work required and successfully pass the state test for nursing assistants within 6 months, as applicable and offered by Holzer Health Systems.
o Current nursing assistants have 12 months to complete course work and state testing.
o Exceptions include aides with 10 years of Holzer aide experience or currently enrolled into healthcare course work.
o Any STNA certified outside the state of Ohio, must complete the Nurse Aide Request for Reciprocity form and submit to the state of Ohio.
o Must complete 12 hours training to retain STNA certification, per calendar year.
- Prior experience in a comparable post-acute facility preferred.
- BLS Required, within 60 days of hire
- First aide training required, within 30 days of hire
- Driving record must be acceptable by HHS insurance and willingness to drive company vehicle to transport residents as needed (excludes minors).
