What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Technician position at Holzer Health System?
The monitor technician works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Monitor Tech is an unlicensed member of the patient care team who is responsible for identifying basic and advanced cardiac rhythms.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Competency acceptable-formal telemetry course preferable through vocational school
- CPR required
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Active Cardiac Arrhythmia Analysis Certification maintained by the National Telemetry Association.- may be completed within 6 months of hire. Holzer will reimburse cost of initial exam if successful. Any additional exams and/or renewal fees will be at cost of employee. Current employees will have 6-12 months to successfully complete. Pay rate will not change until successful completion.
- Nursing aide experience preferred
