Holy Family Catholic School is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant for the 2025-26 school year. The position has flexible hours and requires a maximum of 28 hours per week.
Job summary: The Facilities Assistant fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by helping the Director of Facilities oversee and maintain facility needs relating to day-to-day operations, including janitorial services. The Facilities Assistant assists the Director of Facilities by ensuring that the school is well maintained for its educational purpose as well as safety and efficiency. The position is hired and evaluated by the Principal, with input from the Director of Facilities.
Ministerial Character
The President is the visible foundation of the school, which the Bishop has entrusted to the President. The President makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the school. In order to fulfill this mission, the President employs suitable, chosen collaborators. The President shares with them Christ’s mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the President in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the President in the performance of the President’s ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Requirements:Essential job functions:
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Assists Director of Facilities on custodial operations for daily cleaning that includes classrooms, offices, pavilion, gym, restrooms, hallways, lockers, whiteboards, wastebaskets, windows, and furniture
- Provides aid in maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of grounds, including entrances, sidewalks, driveways, and parking lot
- Provides aid in maintaining the cleanliness of kitchens, restrooms, restocking as needed on a daily basis
- Takes care of accident cleanups as needed
- Assists in the delivery of lunch, pickup of lunch trash, and outside trash on a daily basis
- Assist Director of Facilities in the set up and clean-up for meetings and special events.
- Periodically disinfects door handles, telephones, switch plates, and trash receptacles
- Reports areas of concern to the Director of Facilities.
- Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the Director of Facilities, President, and Principal
Important job functions:
- Conducts emergency clean ups and assists in set up for special events as needed
- Assists in moving furniture and equipment as directed by the administration
- Communicates maintenance and repair issues to the Director of Facilities
Minimum qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
