What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist - Inpatient Staff position at Holy Cross Medical Center?
POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for interpretation and evaluation of physician and advanced practice clinician orders. The pharmacist prepares and dispenses medications to patients, while monitoring the safety and efficacy of medications. All patient care decisions shall comply with Federal and State regulations, as well as align with National Standards of Care. Responsibilities shall be maintained strictly within the approved scope of practice.
MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous inpatient pharmacy experience (1 year in acute care setting)
- Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current and valid pharmacy license in the State of New Mexico within 60 days.
- Sterile Compounding Certification within 6 months.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Adherence to HCMC policies surrounding patient safety, infection control, and HIPAA.
- Skill in oral and written communication in dealing with a variety of individuals.
- Patient-focused and adaptable to the dynamic needs of a rural healthcare setting. A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish languages.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from an ACPE-Accredited Institution.
- PGY-1 or Board Certification
- Experience or knowledge of 340B program
- NM Pharmacist Clinician License
