What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant Exempt position at Hollywood Presbyterian?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Position Summary:
Position is primarily responsible for the maintenance of records of financial transactions and month-end processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Position Accountabilities:
Balance Sheet Account Analysis-and providing proposed adjustments as well as other Income Statement Account Analysis: Building Rentals/Leases.
Timely completion of all Bank Reconciliation-variances are researched and identified.
Maintenance and organization of Month-End Financial Reports.
Timely distribution of Monthly Departmental Financial Reports.
Distribution of Payroll Checks.
Assist in preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles-Journal Entries and Statistical information.
Verify intercompany/intrafacility accounts are balanced at month-end.
Maintain information required for Medicare Year-End Cost Report information-Directorship Logs, Association Fees, Miscellaneous Revenues and Supply Issuances quarterly.
Maintains information required for Annual Tax Package.
Prepare Quarterly Reports: OSHPD and Sales Tax
Provide analysis of miscellaneous accounts during the budgetary process as required.
Perform Physical Inventory Audits and Summary of Audit Adjustments.
Capital Project Maintenance in accordance with the Tenet’s Standards in processing CERs.
Preparation of invoices for collection of non-patient receivables.
Timely completion of Corporate’s volume schedule-ensuring accuracy of information.
Participate in coordinating required information by outside/inside auditors.
Complete other assignments and special projects as assigned by the Controller/CFO.
Support the attainment of the goals of the Hospital and the Department by fulfilling annual employee requirements: reorientation, ethics, and health screenings.
Meet the Standard of a positive Guest Relations Program of the Hospital demonstrated by positive attitude, professionalism and abiding with Tenet’s Code of Ethics.
All other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or two years (AA) College Degree required.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate minimum years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work in a union environment.

Minimum Experience/Skills:
Knowledge of Healthcare and Financial Applications
Knowledge of Internal Control Procedures
Computer Skills-proficient in Lotus or Excel
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation (List any licensure or certification required and specify name of agency.)
Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
