Key Responsibilities:
Animal Care: Provide compassionate care for animals, including feeding, watering, light grooming, and exercising them to maintain their physical and emotional well-being.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Ensure all kennel areas are clean, sanitary, and organized, following established protocols for disinfecting cages and common areas.
Observation & Reporting: Monitor the health and behavior of animals, promptly reporting any signs of illness or distress.
Safety & Security: Adhere to safety guidelines to ensure the safety of both animals and staff, including proper handling techniques and equipment use.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of feeding schedules, medical treatments, and other updates concerning the animals' health and behavior.
Customer Interaction: Assist with customer inquiries and provide information regarding animal care and kennel services in a professional and friendly manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care or working in a veterinary/kennel environment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for working with animals, with patience and empathy.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and cleaning, and to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, health, and nutrition is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in animal care is a plus.
