Job Overview
Your expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food safety will ensure every item meets our high standards. We are a fast-paced cafe that specializes in vegan breakfast and lunch (and bakery). You will be preparing breakfast bagel sandwiches and wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, and fried items in a customer-facing position. You must have attention to detail and take pride in what you do. This is a part-time position, 18-24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Cooking made-to-order vegan breakfast sandwiches and wraps, cold and hot sandwiches, and specials according to established recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment
- Ingredient preparation for the day
- Setting up in preparation for service
- Cleaning and sanitizing of cooking equipment at closing, including flat top, fryer, grill, prep surfaces, small wares, etc...
- Preparing items according to ticket and delivery order times
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all time
- Open communication with other team members to ensure timely preparation during service hours
- Ensure all dishes are prepared with attention to detail, consistency, and presentation excellence
- Customer service
- Assist with dishwashing and general cleaning as needed
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work at scheduled times
Prior experience in serving, or food industry roles is required. We are a fast-casual vegan cafe & bakery that takes pride in every item we serve and we expect the same from every employee. We are looking for someone who cares about quality and presentation.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
