Position Summary:
The Electronic Technician is a key member of the Customer Repair (Returns) team responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and updating returned electronic products, including electronic fuel injection systems and ignition-related components. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation, and a hands-on approach to component-level repair in a fast-paced environment.
The technician will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Customer Support to identify root causes, improve product quality, and ensure timely return-to-service of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Electronic Testing, Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose and repair electronic fuel injection (EFI) systems, ignition components, and related products at the component level.
- Troubleshoot firmware, wiring, and EFI performance-related issues.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, probes, magnifiers, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Interpret schematics, BOMs, ECNs, test reports, and work instructions to support repair activities.
- Perform soldering and rework of SMT and through-hole components.
Programming and System Updating
- Execute firmware updates, programming, and configuration adjustments using software tools.
- Perform computer-based diagnostics and functional testing.
Quality Control (QC) Support & Continues Improvement
- Assist with QC-related testing and documentation as needed.
- Document repair findings, test results, and recurring product issues.
- Identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Provide feedback on product quality, design improvements, and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Degree or coursework in Electronics or related field
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
- Experience with oscilloscopes and electronic diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of SMT components and PCB-level troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with automotive electronics or EFI systems (Sniper preferred)
- Prior experience in repair, returns, or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with firmware updates and embedded systems

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods

Work Environment
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment, temperatures may vary and can become hot or cold depending on season
- Moderate to high noise levels due to machinery and equipment
- Use of ESD-safe workstations and procedures
- Occasional exposure to soldering fumes and mild solvents
