Position Overview
Perform essential duties, in the field, to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the HNWS AMI Program.
Requirements
Essential Duties of the Position
- Install, repair (minor), and replace water meters, water meter boxes, and other AMI program devices
- Troubleshoot the field components of the AMI program
- Investigate customer service requests (i.e. pressure concerns, potential leaks, etc.)
- Initiate or terminate water service
- Repair service line breaks
- Request and complete service orders, completely and accurately, on a wireless device
- Perform on-call duties, periodically
- Other duties, as assigned
Education
High school diploma or GED
Licenses and Certifications
- Current Florida Driver’s License.
- Willingness to acquire backflow certification and Level III Water Distribution licenses within 24 months
Computer Skills
Basic wireless device familiarity, with the willingness to learn company-specific programs and software.
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, or sharp objects
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, push or pull, read, and hear
- The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Adequate vision is required for this position
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
