Landscape Architect/Designer with 3-6 years experience:
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
- 3–6 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, architecture, or a closely related design field
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
- Strong design sensibility and the ability to communicate ideas clearly through drawings, graphics, models, and presentations
- Experience contributing to projects from schematic design through design development, construction documentation, and implementation
- Working knowledge of grading, construction detailing, materials, and site design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in hands-on design work, including sketching, field observation, construction administration, and planting design
- Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative studio environment on a wide range of project types
Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially helpful:
- Urban rooftops, terraces, or private gardens
- Hospitality, institutional, or small-scale commercial projects
- High-end residential design
- Planting design and plant material selection
- Hand rendering, digital rendering, or advanced visualization
- Rhino, Lumion, D5, or other 3D modeling/rendering platforms
- Professional licensure or progress toward licensure
This is for a full-time, in-office position based in Chicago, IL. Salary is commensurate with experience between $80-$100k. Some travel may be required. Position is for immediate hire.
Senior Landscape Architect/Designer with 8 years experience:
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Is an effective leader in a small-team setting on a wide range of project types
- Demonstrates interpersonal, team leadership and organizational skills
- Is excited by the hands-on nature of work that includes physically sketching in addition to computer rendering; getting out into the field for construction administration and placing plant material
- Is ready to be a part of an always-learning environment that regularly offers continuing education opportunities
- Shares our commitment to thoughtful, innovative design solutions appropriate to three ecologies: the site’s ecology, its architectural ecology and its human ecology
- Is interested in a rigorous design process that results in outstanding built work with a high level of detailing
Required Skills:
- Experience leading complex projects from schematic design through construction documentation and implementation
- Project management experience in high-end, single family residential design; urban private rooftops; or small-scale commercial development
- Experience working directly with clients and successfully coordinating deliverables with contractors, consultants, and lead team members
- Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead multiple tasks in a fast-paced studio environment
- Demonstrated strong technical skills (Grading and Construction Details)
- Proficient in AutoCAD v2013, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup and Microsoft Office Suite
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture
Preferred Skills:
- Rhino, Lumion, D5, or other 3D modeling/rendering platforms
- A working knowledge of plant material
- Professional licensure
This is for a full-time, in-office position based in Chicago, IL. Salary is commensurate with experience between $100-$130k. Some travel may be required. Position is for immediate hire.
