What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ice Monitor position at Holland, City of (MI)?
Monitor the skating ribbon, pond, and curling area to ensure participant safety and enforce facility rules.
Assist with skate rentals and returns, including sizing and fitting skates as needed.
Support the admissions and concessions team as assigned.
Respond calmly and effectively to customer questions, concerns, or incidents.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and securing the facility.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including skate rental areas, benches, and spectator spaces.
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues to the Ice Park Manager or Supervisor.
Promote a positive, family-friendly atmosphere in alignment with City of Holland Parks & Recreation values.
Must be able to skate confidently and comfortably on the ice.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
Previous customer service experience preferred, but not required.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training provided).
Evening and weekend availability is required.
