Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel. This position ensures guest rooms, public areas, exterior grounds, and mechanical systems are properly maintained to support a safe, comfortable, and brand-compliant environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to respond promptly to maintenance requests while maintaining a professional and guest-focused demeanor.
Essential Functions
Preventive & General Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance throughout the property, including guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and pool/spa areas.
- Maintain hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC (PTAC units), plumbing fixtures, lighting, and appliances.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor issues involving plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and painting.
- Inspect and repair caulking, grout, furniture, fixtures, bed frames, carpet, tile, and wall surfaces.
- Guest & Team Support
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from management and housekeeping.
- Interact with guests in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner while working in guest areas.
- Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Housekeeping Assistance (As Needed)
- Assist housekeeping staff with room resets, deep cleaning, or public area cleaning when operational needs require.
- Support cleaning duties including bed making, linen replacement, vacuuming, and general cleaning tasks.
- Contribute to maintaining a consistent and positive guest experience during high occupancy periods.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure hotel grounds and common areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Monitor pool and spa areas and chemical levels when applicable (CPO certification is a plus).
- Report hazards, safety concerns, or major repair needs immediately to hotel leadership.
Administrative & Team Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with the General Manager regarding maintenance status and supply needs.
- Maintain organization of tools, storage areas, and maintenance equipment.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist other departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Owner, General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Manager on Duty.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in maintenance trades preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hotel, building, apartment, or residential maintenance preferred.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, heat/cold).
Working Conditions / Schedule Requirements
This position requires physical, hands-on work throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, mechanical areas, and exterior spaces. Schedule flexibility is required and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
