Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the hotel while delivering an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the General Manager, the AGM helps oversee all departments, ensures operational excellence, supports team development, and maintains brand standards. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading by example, solving problems, and creating a positive environment for both guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
- Ensure exceptional guest service by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members while fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Monitor front desk operations, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast service, and overall hotel appearance.
- Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Help manage labor costs, payroll, and departmental expenses.
- Review occupancy reports, daily revenue, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Support sales efforts by maintaining strong guest relationships and identifying opportunities to increase occupancy.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with inventory management and purchasing.
- Step into the General Manager role during absences to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel supervisory or management experience required.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with hotel property management systems is preferred.
