Position Summary
Our hotel maintenance team oversees the hotel’s maintenance operations, ensures the building and equipment are in excellent working order, and supports a safe, comfortable environment for guests and hotel team. This is a hands‑on role with limited leadership responsibilities and requires comfort with basic computer systems and online training.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and repair guest rooms, building systems, and common areas
- Perform preventative maintenance and stay ahead of potential issues
- Troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Maintain the exterior, parking lot, and grounds
- Service and monitor the pool, including chemical balance and filter cleaning (we’ll teach you the system — no prior pool experience required)
- Coordinate with vendors, inspectors, and contractors
- Complete maintenance logs and work orders in our online log‑book
- Complete required Holiday Inn Express online training, including brand‑approved leadership modules
- Support small renovation or improvement projects
- Lead and coordinate part‑time maintenance staff
- Respond to occasional after‑hours emergencies when needed (time paid from your house to your house after hours)

Is comfortable with basic technology -- You can complete online training, use the online log‑book for work orders, and handle simple computer tasks without pushing them onto others.
Respects coworkers and works well with a team -- You maintain professionalism with all staff and support a positive, respectful work environment.
Takes pride in the property -- You treat the hotel like it’s your own — noticing issues before guests do and keeping mechanical spaces clean and organized.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong general maintenance skills (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting)
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Reliability, professionalism, and pride in workmanship
- Basic computer literacy (email, online training, work‑order systems)
- Comfortable with occasional weekend or holiday shifts
- Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities, or trades is a plus
Physical Requirements
This role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, and hands‑on repair work. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and safely perform the physical tasks required for building maintenance.
