Maintenance Person

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Staff member, you’ll keep building interiors and facilities equipment safe, functional, and ready for daily use. You’ll handle hands-on maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks, using sound judgment to prioritize work and support the people who rely on the facility. Your impact: Timely, careful repairs help occupants and coworkers use well-maintained spaces with fewer disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair facilities equipment, building interiors, and mechanical systems; identify issues and document completed work.
• Perform electrical work and electrical equipment repair, using schematics and an ohmmeter (electrical testing meter) when appropriate.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) equipment.
• Complete carpentry, welding, residential and maintenance painting, and other general maintenance tasks with hand tools.
• Support maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities; communicate clearly with customers and coworkers, and provide leadership on assigned work when needed.

Requirements

• Practical mechanical knowledge and experience with facilities maintenance, building interior maintenance, and general maintenance and repair.
• Electrical experience, including familiarity with electrical equipment repair, schematics, and safe use of an ohmmeter.
• Working knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repair and HVAC system repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and perform or assist with carpentry, welding, and maintenance painting; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
• English communication skills to understand instructions and provide customer service; leadership experience is an asset.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week
