Houseman/Custodian

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Houseman to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our hotel, ensuring that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

Duties

*EXTERIOR: Pull all trash at all entrances, pull all cigarette butts in ash trays, and sweep trash and cigarette butts on the parking lot, grass and around guest vehicles. When walking around the building if there are any rocks on the street, please pick up and throw back where it belongs. Use blower for leaves/debris. Take out trash in trash room (blue bins) as well as breakfast trash (blue bin). Mop trash room as needed! Wipe down glass doors at end of hallways.

*BATHROOMS: sweep, mop, empty trash, clean toilets, counters, sink, wipe down picture, baseboards, refill paper towels, toilet tissue, seat covers, and soap.

*GUEST LAUNDRY: Sweep/ mop floors, pull trash, pull dryer lint from dryers

*POOL ROOM: Check for trash on the floors, take out trash and take dirty pool towels to laundry room. Place rolled clean towels on shelves. Mop floor if needed and wipe glass windows/door. Check skimmer for tablets.

*FITNESS ROOM: Pull trash, place clean towels on shelves, wipe down all exercise equipment, clean mirrors, mop as needed.

*PATIO AREA: Straighten patio furniture, check for trash, pickup cigarette butts

*ELEVATORS: Wipe down walls of elevators/buttons on every floor with stainless steel cleaner, sweep/mop elevator floor, clean out elevator tracks

*LOBBY: clean tables, vacuum and take out trash. Mop/sweep all tile areas in lobby/breakfast area. Check for stains or trash in couch cushions and dust and wipe down. Wipe down all baseboards/windowsills. Clean front door tracks and glass.

*HALLWAYS: Vacuum all floors (while vacuuming, always have a wet rag in hand to get any stains out of carpet, if it doesn’t come up) Wipe down pictures and baseboards, check for any scuffs on walls. Sweep/Mop 2nd-4th floor tile elevator landings (put up wet floor signs and blower) Wipe glass windows/windowsills at each end of the hallway.

*STAIRWELLS: Check for cleanliness and sweep/vacuum, dust cobwebs/bugs on walls, wipe down stair rails

Skills

• Proven experience in housekeeping or custodial roles within the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies used in industrial cleaning.
• Familiarity with housekeeping management practices in a hotel setting is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
