Holdenville General Hospital is seeking a compassionate, creative, and highly organized Activities Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a vital part in enhancing the quality of life and promoting the well-being of our swing bed patients through individualized recreational activities designed to support rehabilitation and recovery. This opening is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead therapeutic and recreational activities for swing bed patients, based on individual needs and care plans.
- Coordinate one-on-one activities to promote socialization, mobility, cognitive engagement, and emotional wellness.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and care teams to ensure activities support patient goals and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activity participation and patient progress.
- Ensure activity supplies are available, safe, and appropriate for use.
- Facilitate special events, holiday observances, and community involvement opportunities.
- Engage with families to encourage participation and gather feedback for personalized care.
- Comply with all state, federal, and hospital regulations related to swing bed services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in long-term care, acute care, or rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative, energetic, and empathetic personality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical documentation systems preferred.
- CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Must be able to pass a background check and complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
