What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camden Bus Aide position at HOLCOMB ENTERPRISE?
The bus aide assists in the physical and behavioral care of the passengers during transport to and from school/location. In addition, this individual will help with the safe boarding of students/passengers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the bus driver when requested or as needed
- Assist students requiring help loading or unloading the bus
- Monitor the student’s wellbeing and behavior during the route
- Respond appropriately to students needs during the route and notify the driver of emergencies or issues
- Be familiar with the daily routes to assist a substitute or new driver
- Secure special needs students and or equipment with restraints, tie downs, wheelchairs, seatbelts, car seats, etc.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Help prepare documentation for accident, incident, or student related issues, report issues to driver and office personnel.
- Keep bus clean from debris and anything left from students; Clean up bus after use
- Collect and report any items/personal belongings left on bus
- Must be able to physically move throughout the bus and bend and lift
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Bus Driver/Transportation Manager

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass background check and fingerprint process through Dept. of Education
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50lbs
- Reliable transportation to Camden, NJ
- Must be available Monday - Friday; work split shift
- Estimated AM shift: 6-9:30 ; estimated PM shift 1-5 (only working 2 hours per shift)
