TITLE: BUS AIDE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and write.
- Good physical health and ability to perform assigned duties.
- Knowledge of bus passenger safety and effective discipline procedures.
- Successful screening through the district’s personnel employment process.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for the students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the bus driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus.
- Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
- Provide written records of violations of student code to the building principal.
- Collect personal items left on the bus and turn them over to the school office.
- Provide instruction to students regarding passenger safety and ensure that students wear their seat belts when the bus is so equipped.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months
VACATION: There is no vacation time allotted to this position.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
