What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at Hog Lick Aggregates LLC?
Hog Lick Aggregates is searching for a motivated individual to be a mechanic on our team. As a mechanic, you will:
- Coordinate with the Lead Mechanic and Quarry Foreman as to daily priorities and daily work plan.
- Diagnose and repair our mining and aggregate processing equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance and routine maintenance activities as directed.
- Coordinate with Parts and Inventory Manager to ensure correct purchase and proper stocking levels.
- Consult with vendors and consultants as to repair and maintenance issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform repair and maintenance activities as directed.
- Ensure that routine/preventive inspections, cleaning, and maintenance is completed.
- Keep all work areas clean and neat, store all tools and equipment.
- Take training and direction from Lead Mechanic and Quarry Foreman with respect to maintenance priorities.
- Consult with the Logistics Coordinator to specify and order parts and materials.
- All tools and equipment will be provided by Hog Lick Aggregates.
Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining and operating: diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps and valves, tracked equipment, wheeled equipment, electrical systems.
- Knowledge of fuel systems, lubrication systems, transmissions, and electrical motors.
- Experience working with maintenance tracking and work order management systems.
- Experience in reading blueprints, one-line diagrams and schematics.
- Experience with welding, fabricating, fueling.
- First Aid & CPR or willingness to obtain certification.
- Prior experience working at a mine or a quarry, preferred.
Career Path:
- Mechanic progressing to Senior Mechanic or Quarry Foreman
- Operator certification if interested
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Experienced Miner Certification
Compensation:
- Hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
- Regular overtime (approx. 10 hours per week) with Monday – Friday schedule
