Experienced Equipment Operator & Laborer

Hoffman Excavating & Paving, LLC is a New Jersey based, successful company that provides high quality excavating services to our residential and commercial customers in Hunterdon County and surrounding areas. Currently we are looking to hire a full-time experienced heavy equipment operator . We are seeking a reliable & responsible individual who is willing to take the necessary steps to achieve given goals on each work site. We are offering a year round position from Monday to Friday work schedule with available overtime hours. We provide very competitive pay rate with yearly bonuses. Compensation is strictly based on the knowledge & experience of residential/commercial sitework. Willingness to do more than just to operate equipment will lead to greater compensation.

Essential Requirements:

• MINIMUM 4 years experience with operating equipment
• CDL a plus
• 40 Hr OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate or willing to obtain it
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials & equipment
• Proficiently operate several types of heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, dozers, skid steer, loaders, compactors, etc.
• Must be able to safely operate equipment around other workers, utilities, equipment, and other obstacles.
• Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in details & procedures related to excavating, installation of septic systems, sewer lines, drainage, etc.
• Must have ability to conduct manual labor activities (the ability to hop off the machine and work within the crew performing other tasks)
• Fluent in English both verbal & written communication
• Follow safety procedures & policies
• Pre-employment drug testing required

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, and loaders on construction sites.
• Transport equipment to and from job sites.
• Load and unload equipment / materials from vehicles and trailers.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment .
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate given tasks.
