West Simsbury Collision Center Technician Apprentice

Role Purpose

This position handles various tasks around the shop including working with vehicles and other techs,.

Leadership

This position does not lead others.

Core Accountabilities

1. Strip and sand finishes off vehicles; tape vehicles for painting.
2. Prime and paint when required.
3. Perform body work in limited capacity. Buff vehicles when needed.
4. Handle materials such as cleaning fluid, thinner, paint, sandpaper, and tape in a safe efficient manner.
5. Ensure compliance with all safety and OSHA regulations that pertain to your job and have been instructed to you through “Right to Know” and safety training at your store.  Perform DAILY inspections of your work area.  At no time is it permissible to use or store a secondary container containing ANY substance without a proper Hazard Warning label adhered to the bottle.
6. Document work orders, time sheets, inspection sheets or other pertinent forms per company, state, and manufacturer or federal regulations/procedures.
7. Must be able to lift at least (50) pounds, bend, reach overhead, and squat and stoop.
8. Maintain a clean and neat work area.
9. Follow all policies and procedures as designated by the Hoffman Auto Group Privacy Act Policy

Competencies and Qualifications

1. High School Diploma
2. 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service orientated environment preferred
3. Can adapt and embrace change with an internal and external customer centric mindset
4. Act as an advocate for teammates and have a strong commitment to technology advancement
5. Possesses effective communication skills: oral, written, listening.
6. Works well with customers, promotes a positive image of the company, and strives to solve issues raised by customers.

Salary : $18 - $20
