Food Safety Compliance and Sanitation Manager - OVERNIGHT

Job purpose

The Food Safety Compliance Manager will facilitate development, implementation and training for comprehensive systems to ensure food safety and sanitation. The focus will be consistent adherence to documented regulatory, corporate and local regulations, standards and practices. The associate will act in her current role as a QA Technician and in addition will support the 3rd shift's Sanitation and Packing lines. The Food Safety Compliance Manager will be responsible to conduct risk based Food Safety, Sanitation, Quality Systems Audits. She will update & maintain the HAACP plan as required by the QA Manager for Hodo. Food safety compliance manager will also be responsible for putting products on hold and follow the proper release process . They will be responsible to review the corrective action for the audit deficiencies and monitor the status of corrective action at Hodo. They will lead with behaviors that promote cultural change through outstanding team based relationships.

Manage Chemical/Sanitation – This includes taking inventory and purchasing of chemical and sanitation supplies. Observing & Coaching employees to ensure compliance, proper cleaning and improvement of these processes.

Duties and responsibilities

Safety

• Leads through example - promotes safety performance and helps establish a safety culture.

Food Safety

• Conducts formal facility risk assessments and prioritizes work based upon assigned risks. Updates procedures and processes as needed and conducts staff training.
• Assist in managing SQF certification and sustainability with QA Manager. Conduct internal audits, update SOP’s and training. Project Management which includes creating and implementing projects, improvements and action items in reference to SQF compliance. Pass SQF practitioner training.
• Conducts Food Safety / Sanitation / Quality Systems Audits and cultural assessments. Identifies any gaps and assists with implementation of corrective actions.
• Facilitates compliance with all food safety and quality programs for the company: HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen control, lot traceability, associate food safety training, organic, gluten-free, non-GMO and kosher certifications..
• Monitors effectiveness of Master Cleaning Sanitation Schedule, cleaning procedures, chemical usage and chemical safety.
• ·Coaches / trains facility management staff were necessary.
• ·Helps to identify trends in inadequate regulatory compliance within the organization.
• Schedules the Sanitation team weekly.
• Reviews staff on the anniversary dates.
• Supports company initiatives to reduce Consumer Complaints; Foreign Material, Mold.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned. Maintain office and break room supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies

• Proven QA/QC Experience
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally
• Ability to sit at computer desk for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs repeatedly throughout day
