Purpose: To provide our customers with an exceptional one-on-one experience when inquiring about vehicle repairs.
Essential Duties:
Essential Duties:
- Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems, checking vehicle maintenance records, examining service schedules.
- Verifies warrant and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develops estimates by costing parts, supplies and labor; calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtain approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
- Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufactures’ publications.
Other Duties:
- Greet customers as they arrive at our service center.
- Consult with mechanics about necessary repairs.
- Follow-up with customers regarding any changes in service.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Preferred at least one – two years of experience.
- Knowledge of automotive industry and parts.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information; mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate equally well with mechanics, customers and senior management.
- Excellent communications skills. Professional personal appearance. Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
