Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Leader who will lead, administer, develop and grow the youth ministry of Hodgenville United Methodist Church.
Duties
- Develop, plan, and execute dynamic youth programs, events, and retreats that promote spiritual growth and community engagement.
- Provide mentorship and Christian counseling to youth members, offering guidance through life's challenges with compassion and understanding.
- Lead weekly youth group meetings, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages open communication and active participation.
- Coordinate volunteer efforts, including recruiting, training, and supervising youth leaders and mentors to support program initiatives.
- Organize fundraising activities and outreach events to support youth programs and expand community involvement.
- Collaborate with parents, church staff, and community organizations to ensure programs meet the diverse needs of young people.
- Offer bereavement support and hospice care awareness when appropriate, providing comfort during difficult times for youth facing loss or grief.
- Coordinate and oversee all ministries with children grades 6th thru 12th grade
Experience
- Proven experience in teaching or mentoring youth within a faith-based or community setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people to reach their full potential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively connect with children, parents, volunteers, and community partners.
- Background in event planning and organizing large-scale activities or retreats for youth groups.
- Knowledge of social work principles, Christian counseling techniques, and bereavement support strategies is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational environments is preferred.
