Job Overview: Provide engaging customer service to visitors, as required perform open and close gift shop procedures. Ensure daily cash reports and accurate and complete. Provide support as necessary in the Hoċokata Ti Library and front desk. Monitor the retail area’s physical condition and appearance, ensure security of inventory.

Create Your Path: The Work You’ll Do

• Perform open and close gift shop procedures, operate POS system, and process merchandise sales, ticketing, credit, debit, and cash transactions. Ensure daily cash reports are accurate and complete.
• Provide visitor reception, including information in the form of SMSC outreach brochures, and/or other media.
• Assist with creating visual merchandising displays incorporating seasonal themes.
• Monitor the retail area’s physical condition and appearance and ensure security of inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job. Requirements:

• 1 -2 years’ experience in retail or guest service.
• Knowledge of Dakota history and or Native American culture obtained through coursework preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office & POS systems.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Capacity to handle and lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
