Experienced Dry Cleaner (Lead Machine Operator)

Hockessin Cleaners is looking for an experienced Dry Cleaner to operate our dry cleaning equipment and ensure every garment is cleaned to the highest standards. We have proudly served Hockessin and the surrounding communities for over 30 years and are committed to providing exceptional garment care.

This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience running dry cleaning machines, understands fabric care, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Operate all dry cleaning machines and equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect garments before cleaning to identify stains, damage, and special care requirements
• Select the appropriate cleaning process based on garment type and fabric
• Remove stains using proper spotting techniques
• Monitor machine performance and cleaning quality throughout the day
• Maintain production schedules and meet daily deadlines
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report repair needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work closely with pressers and front counter staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
• Help maintain the high quality standards our customers expect

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional dry cleaning experience
• Experience operating dry cleaning machines independently
• Strong knowledge of garment care, fabrics, stain removal, and cleaning techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Dependable with a strong work ethic
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spotting and quality control
• Ability to train junior staff
• Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting
