HNTB is seeking an experienced and client-focused executive to grow our business with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in coordination with geographic and national leaders. The candidate will drive strategic engagement, client satisfaction, and profitable growth across HNTB’s portfolio of infrastructure, water resources, resilience, and facility-related services with USACE Districts and Divisions nationwide. This individual will oversee and develop laddered relationships, identify growth opportunities, identify and recruit top talent, guide pursuit strategies including following the Sophisticated Planning Approach (SPA) and Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA), and ensure project delivery excellence in alignment with federal regulations and agency priorities. What You’ll Do: In collaboration with Line Leadership, responsible for defining and executing growth strategies that increase HNTB’s market share in a region or division. Focuses on growing business, short term and long term to achieve a dominant position with transportation clients in the region/division. Leads and participates in client discovery activities and client-focused initiatives at the direction of the Region/Division President, and in collaboration with Line Leaders and Client Service Leaders within the Region/Division. May act as or work in close collaboration with Super Client Service Leaders (SCSLs) and their teams. Leads a multi-faceted team to develop and execute a plan to achieve HNTB’s strategic goals and growth objectives with a super client. Works with region and division leadership to implement our Sophisticated Planning Approach (SPA), including developing and executing external relationship plans and other client focus strategies. Supports the development of strategic plans at the client, office and division levels, working with national resources and line leaders to clearly define growth goals and strategies. Collaborates with line leaders to strengthen relationships at all levels of the client organization and with external influencers. This includes identifying, leveraging, and deploying national resources. May act as National Pursuit Champion, leveraging resources across the firm and serving as the national advocate for the pursuit including facilitating discovery that informs the team’s strategy to deliver a winning response. Leverages the Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) Stages 1-3 in support of external client focus and regional business development efforts to bring opportunities for the sales team to pursue. May serve as a client service leader and/or pursuit champion. Identifies key recruiting needs and draft board candidates, fully leveraging professional networks and personal connections to bring industry best talent aligned with our culture and values. Monitors progress toward achieving growth goals, and in collaboration with Region/Division Leadership, works to identify and deploy needed resources. Collaborates with internal government relations leaders and external consultants on legislative strategies, relationship development with clients and elected officials, contribution strategies and involvement in community and political initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 15 years of relevant experience In lieu of degree, 19 years of relevant experience Experience with and an understanding of the A&E industry with an emphasis on client development and emerging markets within the industry. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
