The Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing litigation-focused law firm serving institutional and lender clients, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to support a sharply expanding caseload in Florida. This is a newly created role driven by exceptional growth, case volume has more than tripled over the past year, with a substantial pipeline already in motion.
The firm’s goal is proactive hiring: bringing in an attorney ahead of demand so workloads remain manageable and high-quality advocacy remains the standard. The right attorney will be set up for long-term success, collaboration, and growth rather than being immediately overloaded.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will take ownership of a contested litigation-heavy caseload, primarily focused on foreclosure-related matters and associated real estate disputes. The work is hands-on and fast-moving, ideal for an attorney who enjoys staying close to the cases and driving them toward resolution.
In the first 6 months, you can expect to:
- Assume responsibility for an active docket of approximately 60–80 contested cases (subject to change as volume continues to grow)
- Step seamlessly into existing matters with minimal ramp-up
- Manage cases through all key litigation phases, from pleadings through judgment
- Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and staff to fill current workflow gaps and improve efficiency
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing litigation matters with an emphasis on foreclosure and real estate-related disputes
- Drafting and arguing motions, including dispositive and procedural motions
- Handling hearings, mediations, and court appearances as needed
- Preparing matters for trial and covering trials when required (extensive trial experience is not mandatory)
- Applying strong working knowledge of relevant case law while exercising sound judgment in strategy and execution
- Maintaining accurate documentation and deadlines within the firm’s case management system (CaseWare)
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- Active Florida Bar admission
- 5–7 years of litigation experience
- Strong background in foreclosure litigation
- Ability to step in and contribute immediately (“plug-and-play” skill set)
- Solid command of litigation procedure, motion practice, and case strategy through judgment
- Willingness and ability to cover trial proceedings when necessary
Highly Valued (But Flexible) Experience
- Attorneys coming from real estate litigation or related practice areas
- Transferable litigation experience outside traditional foreclosure work
- Experience managing fluctuating caseloads in high-volume environments
Team Fit & Culture
This firm places a premium on adaptability, teamwork, and long-term commitment.
Attorneys who thrive here tend to:
- Pitch in where needed without hesitation
- Communicate openly and collaborate across departments
- Value stability and are looking for a firm where they can grow and stay
- Balance independence with a strong team-first mindset
