HMS School is seeking a Vice President of Related Services who will oversees HMS’s therapeutic programs (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Assistive Technology, and Recreational Therapy/Expressive Arts). As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position represents the core functions of these teams from an operational and strategic perspective, ensuring that all related services continue to evolve in alignment with the school’s mission, educational goals, and individualized student needs, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in the care of students with complex medical and physical needs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
1. Related Services Oversight and Supervisory Duties:
· Provides leadership and executive level oversight of recreational therapy/expressive arts (RT/EA), physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), speech department (ST) and assistive technology (AT). Maintains a presence within program sessions regularly to stay connected to core programming, advocates for student and staff needs, and promotes overall program operations and quality.
· Provides consistent supervision to direct reports, including goal setting, staff development, leadership coaching, and performance management.
· Fosters positive, collaborative working relationships with all departments through proactive relationship building and coordination of interdisciplinary team members in key decisions.
· Develop and implement interdisciplinary service models that support student learning, communication, mobility, and social-emotional development.
· Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and licensing requirements for all related services.
· Accountable for annual budget development and monitoring; projects fiscal resources associated with the RT/EA, PT, ST, OT and AT programs, including identifying staffing needs and caseload targets.
· Establish and monitor service delivery quality, outcomes, and documentation standards.
· Support innovation and research across teams.
· Serve as a liaison to families and community partners as needed.
2. Role with Vice President of Education and IEP Process:
· Collaborates closely with the Vice President of Education to ensure all staff are thoroughly prepared for RR and IEP meetings to maintain a high quality of preparation, professionalism, and effective communication with the team, families and partnering school districts.
· Meets regularly with the VP of Education and Executive Leadership Team to support the implementation of education initiatives and to ensure strong communication and collaboration amongst therapy and education staff.
· Partners with educational leadership to effectively integrate services and support a cohesive, interdisciplinary school model.
3. As a member of the executive leadership team, participates in over-arching discussions and implementation of mission, vision, and strategic direction by:
· Participates as a member of the Admissions Committee.
· Works with the Executive and Leadership management teams in the development and clarification of policies, coordinating communication, prioritizing, problem-solving, and monitoring activities affecting the overall school program.
· Proactively communicating student information as needed for coordinated practice and improvement to all student programs and administrative staff.
· Participates in the development and ongoing review of program policies and procedures as needed for continuous updating, improvement to ensure compliance of therapy staff with all School policies and procedures
· Encouraging professional growth and development, as well as dissemination of HMS practices via presentations, partnerships, publications, and other means.
· Develops Related Services annual budget as part of the overall HMS budget with the President and Chief Finance Officer.
· Participates in organizational strategic and annual operating planning activities.
· Adopts and supports the roll-out of best practices and new initiatives across the organization.
· Serves as a project sponsor and champion of organizational development initiatives tied into Related Services.
Education and Experience:
· Master’s Degree preferred, with significant, progressive experience in one or more related services fields (PT, OT, ST, AT, Rec Therapy/Expressive Arts, and/or Special Education Administration)
· Ten (10) years of leadership and people management experience within special education and/or healthcare working (Approved Private School experience preferred)
· Robust understanding and direct experience supporting the needs of students with multiple disabilities and complex medical conditions, particularly as they relate to their therapeutic needs
· Experience overseeing interdisciplinary teams and driving collaboration, communication and integration
· Clinical experience as a related services practitioner is a plus

Job Type: Full-time, minimum of 40 hours/weekly
Salary: Starting at $110,000 to 115,000; qualifications and experience will assist in determining salary offer.
