HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy, located in University City, Philadelphia PA, is seeking a Meticulous and Creative Manager of Food Service to join our Team. The ideal candidate must be able to oversee Food Service Operations within the school. Assuring safe practices by following physician orders and SLPs recommendations to meet student nutritional and consistency needs as well as manage the preparation of staff meals and all special events involving food.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Working knowledge of food service and nutritional guidelines and best practices.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and to work collaboratively with upper management and other stakeholders to identify and facilitate needed improvements to the food service program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software as needed to draft reports, inventory, and budgets.
Education and Experience:
· At least 2 years of Food Service Management Experience in a School or Health Care Setting
· Minimum of Associate’s degree in Hospitality, Culinary, and/or Business Management
· SERV Safe Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift, up to 15 pounds at times.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly responsible for leading Cooks and Food Service Utility Workers
Job Duties/Responsibilities including but not limited to:
· Managing Food Service Staff by establishing standards for personnel performance and customer service.
· Recruiting and Hiring Food Service Staff
· Developing & overseeing staff schedules
· Preparing and submitting payroll
· Ensuring staff comply with policies and procedures of both HMS and appropriate governing agencies
· Procuring food and supplies
· Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed.
· Following physician orders to meet nutritional needs of students
· Develop menus for both students and staff; prepare production sheets for staff follow.
· Working in collaboration with other departments regarding protocols for preparing and presenting food to students
· Working with the Executive Leadership Team, Directors and other staff and Board of Trustees as needed when planning special events.
