Position Summary
The Food Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food production, sanitation, and staff management within a unionized workforce. This role ensures all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency while maintaining compliance with healthcare dietary regulations.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can motivate and manage a diverse team, implement efficient workflows, and maintain a collaborative relationship with both staff and administration.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations across all shifts.

Oversee food production to guarantee meals meet nutritional, safety, and quality standards.

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and compliance with state and federal health regulations.

Schedule and coordinate staffing to ensure proper coverage during operating hours (5:30am – 8:00pm).

Manage and resolve union workforce concerns in accordance with labor agreements.

Monitor inventory, minimize waste, and support cost-effective purchasing practices.

Collaborate with dietary and clinical teams to meet resident needs and preferences.

Maintain documentation for compliance, inspections, and audits.
Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a healthcare food service management role.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing union employees preferred.

Knowledge of healthcare dietary guidelines, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including alternating weekends and holidays.

ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety credential required.

High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Nutrition preferred.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
