Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Sushi Chef to join our team! As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality sushi and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a commitment to food safety while working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other menu items according to restaurant standards.
- Cook and season sushi rice to ensure consistent quality.
- Slice and prepare fresh fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
- Prep ingredients before service and restock stations as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and properly store food items.
- Assist with cleaning equipment, utensils, and kitchen work areas.
- Work efficiently with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
- Maintain consistency in food presentation and quality.
Qualifications
- Previous sushi preparation or kitchen experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Food safety knowledge is a plus.
