What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Operator I position at HL-GA Battery Company LLC?
Summary:
As a Technical Operator, you will execute the assigned process/equipment in accordance with work instructions. You will participate in production volumes and quality under the production plan while using equipment and computerized systems to produce, assemble, evaluate, process and package lithium-ion batteries in a climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities:
Achieve KPI’s: Production Target Qty, OEE, Yield and Project targets
Prepare equipment and materials for production
Prepare, clean, and stage production materials, including removal of excess material, to support downstream processing and operational needs
Lead machine change-over, verify proper function and product quality is met
Request/support calibrate measurement systems
Operate equipment in accordance with the OP Manual, in-putting materials, and monitoring defects/loss for continuous operation
Conduct self-inspection of the product and check the quality
Manage accurate records of production work
Track all non-conformations and scraps
Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals
Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment
Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory
Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas
Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment
Perform 5s audits, maintain production logs, quality checks and maintenance work logs
Mentor and train new technical operators
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Follow HL-GA existing cleaning SOP’s during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors and engineers
Sorting / Rework / Re-input
Cooperate/communicate within and between departments and shifts
Manage inventory (material, semi-product, product, holding material/product)
Monitor the SPC, RMS system, QMS NCR and report to the supervisor or manager
Adhere to company, team and safety rules/requirements at all times, including clean room rules and PPE standards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
Ability and willingness to work 8–12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays, as business needs evolve
Applicants understand that shift assignments will be determined by the company based on operational needs and may change over time
Experience:
At least 1 year of continuous work history with a single employer in the last 5 years
1-5 years of Manufacturing experience preferred

Ability to work well with individuals and teams to ensure the team meets & exceeds expectations
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed shoes
- Nitrile gloves
- Ear protection
- Cleanroom suit
Must be able to perform the following activities repeatedly for periods of up to 12 hours:
- Lift, push, and pull materials or equipment
- Stoop, twist, and bend
- Reach overhead
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems
Work Environment:
