About the Role 

The HR Coordinator plays a hands-on role across benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee onboarding and offboarding. You will work closely with the operations team and broader HR team to keep day-to-day processes running accurately and on time, respond to employee inquiries, and help foster a positive employee experience across a growing, distributed organization. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Maintain and update benefits data in HR systems, support open enrollment activities, and assist with benefits invoices and reconciliation. Partner with external vendors to resolve issues or escalate as needed. 
  • Payroll Administration: Own accurate and timely payroll processing for one or more partner companies. Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies promptly, and provide weekly administrative and reporting support to ensure a clean, consistent payroll cycle. 
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the full lifecycle experience for new hires and departing employees — coordinating onboarding logistics, system setup, benefits enrollment, and offboarding documentation to ensure smooth, consistent transitions. 
  • Leave of Absence Management: Administer and manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, and medical leave, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with employees and managers. 
  • Training Administration: Provide administrative support for employee training programs, tracking completion and following up with employees and managers to ensure required safety and compliance training is finished on time. 
  • Employee HR Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR questions — resolving common inquiries directly and escalating more complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate Regional People Business Partner. 
  • HR Communications & Engagement: Draft and distribute HR communications that keep employees informed about policies, programs, and resources. Support employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs through event coordination and campaign support. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered 
  • Prior experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, or a related HR support role 
  • Basic knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employee benefits 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to create clear, engaging employee-facing content 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva or HRIS tools is a plus 
  • High attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion 

 

What Onboarding Looks Like

  

In your first 30 days, you will learn the structure of our partner network, get up to speed on our benefits programs and HR systems, and begin handling day-to-day employee inquiries under close guidance. By day 60, you will be managing benefits administration and leave of absence tracking independently and contributing to HR communications with minimal oversight. By day 90, you are a reliable, go-to resource for employees and HR team members alike, executing your responsibilities with consistency and building the credibility that comes from getting the details right every time.

  4. HR communications land well: Success is employee-facing content that is clear, timely, and actually absorbed by the reader. Guides, FAQs, and program updates that reduce repeat questions and reflect well on the HR team. 
  5. You make the team better: Success means the operations leaders and broader HR team spend less time on administrative follow-up because they can count on you to own your responsibilities completely and flag issues before they become problems.
