The Corporate Communications and Engagement Support Specialist will play a crucial, dual-focused role in supporting Communications with an emphasis on internal and external corporate communications. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt role reporting to the Director of Human Resources (DHR). This role is a hybrid position with the expectation of some, infrequent in-office presence at the direction of the DHR. This position is responsible for assisting in the creation, editing, scheduling, and distribution of internal communications (e.g., newsletters, intranet content, company-wide emails, presentations). Additionally, the specialist will provide administrative and logistical support for various employee engagement programs, events, and surveys, helping to measure and improve employee experience.
Position Description:
Communications
- Manage internal communications including company newsletters, intranet articles, announcements, and executive messages, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and brand standards.
- Manage the scheduling and distribution of internal communications across various platforms (email, intranet, digital signage, etc.) to ensure consistent and timely delivery to target audiences
- Responsible for daily management and upkeep of the company intranet ensuring content is up to date, accurate, and easily accessible.
- Support Executive leadership with internal presentations, reports, and communication materials for all-hands meetings, town halls, and leadership updates.
- Help monitor communication channels and track employee feedback on internal messaging
- Create, draft, and distribute execute Leadership external communications such as press releases, statements to the media, and media pitches
- Support crisis management communication efforts when needed.
- Manage intranet platform including content development, updates, and overall ease of use
- Develop and execute social media strategy
Engagement Support
- Program Logistics & Administration: Provide comprehensive logistical and administrative support for employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, volunteer events, wellness challenges, and social gatherings.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing company events (e.g., holiday parties, team-building activities), handling vendor communication, material preparation, and on-site support.
- Survey Deployment & Analysis: Support the deployment of employee surveys (e.g., pulse surveys, annual engagement surveys) and assist in organizing the resulting data for HR analysis and reporting.
- Learning and Development: Partner with Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and other personnel on L&D efforts encompassing compliance training and special interest subject matter (Human Capital Communities of Interest).
Media Relations, Public Relations & Social Media
- Create, draft, and distribute execute Leadership external communications such as press releases, statements to the media, and media pitches
- Support crisis management communication efforts when needed.
- Manage intranet platform including content development, updates, and overall ease of use
- Develop and execute social media strategy
Employee Development
- Support in partnership with HR, professional training programs, to include, but not limited to, Professional Skills Training, People Leadership Training and Orientation, company-required trainings such as Annual Security Training, CUI, and other training initiatives as assigned
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support impactful learning and development initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Events
Lead the Hive Group Events Committee to plan, coordinate, and execute employee morale events that foster a sense of belonging and community across the organization. Duties include:
- Providing broad oversight to both in-person and virtual events, ensuring inclusive, well-organized, and high-quality experiences.
- Partner with committee members to generate ideas and prioritize events
- Collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to promote participation and communication around events.
- Gather and analyze employee feedback to continuously improve event effectiveness.
- Assist with other employee engagement initiatives such as town halls, recognition programs, and wellness activities, and culture-building events.
- Provide broad oversight to both in-person and virtual events, ensuring inclusive, well-organized, and high-quality experiences.
- Collaborate with HR, leadership, and cross-functional teams to promote participation and communication around events.

Qualifications
- Ability to travel to Hive Group offices when needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, employee engagement, public relations, or a related role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience crafting messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience facilitating training, workshops, or professional development programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Background or certification in coaching, mentoring, or leadership development is strongly desired.
- Experience in media relations and brand storytelling.
- High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
