We are looking for a highly skilled Manufacturing Senior Accountant to oversee general ledger accounting and financial operations within our battery storage systems division. This role will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage month-end closings, and provide insights into manufacturing financial performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with finance and production teams to maintain compliance and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing transactions.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare financial statements and manufacturing-specific reports, such as cost of goods sold (COGS) and production performance summaries.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with manufacturing goals.
Inventory and Cost Accounting:
- Oversee inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Support the development and maintenance of standard costing models for battery storage manufacturing.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and collaborate with the supply chain team on valuation adjustments.
Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested schedules and documentation.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls specific to manufacturing activities.
Collaboration and Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to understand and improve cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Provide financial guidance to cross-functional teams to support manufacturing goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 7 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with exposure to manufacturing or cost accounting.
- Industry experience in battery storage, renewable energy, manufacturing, or related technology sectors preferred.
- Strong understanding of GL accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience working in a matrixed or cross-functional organization.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
