Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate laser cutting machines, including Fanuc-controlled systems, to produce precise parts according to technical specifications and production schedules
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents to determine proper machine settings and tooling requirements
- Program CNC laser machines using CAM programming software to optimize cutting paths and improve efficiency
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on laser equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance
- Measure finished parts with precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
- Collaborate with team members on materials handling, tooling setup, and assembly line processes to streamline production workflows
- Follow safety standards rigorously while operating industrial equipment, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or similar industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings interpretation, and shop math principles
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CNC programming, CAM programming, and CNC milling or lathe machines is highly desirable
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of fabrication processes such as welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and CNC machining techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively using industrial troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and understanding GD&T specifications
- Experience working safely in a manufacturing facility with adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Basic math skills for quality control calculations; shop experience with warehouse operations or materials handling is a plus
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or CAD software for interpreting technical drawings is advantageous
