And that’s where you come in. Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Commissioning Engineer – System Integration who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia. This position will be offered as a 12m max-term contract (with options). The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can simplify complex data and insights for senior stakeholders, enabling clear decision-making. Key responsibilities: Project Work Perform the Lab Integration for full End to End ETCS solutions including target and virtual environment based on the T&C facilities; Performing System End-to-End testing; Performing Site Integration testing with internal and external stakeholders Preparing integration testing specification and testing report Reporting the issues found during the testing based on RTC Assisting the Team Lead/Commissioning Manager in preparing testing documentation, such as Commissioning Plan, Migration Plan, Test Plans and Testing Procedures Willing to travel within Australia (i.e. Brisbane/Sydney/Perth) as required by the Projects Testing and Commissioning Participating in the testing and commissioning of railway in Control Centre and Onboard Participating the system integration activities on Site and in T&C lab Assisting in fault identification during the set to work activities and during testing and commissioning Reporting Supporting the manufacturing and installation activities as required, including: Attending project progress meetings as and when required Preparing progress reports for appropriate activities Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for testing and commissioning activities Occupational Health and Safety Ensure all activities undertaken in the Company are conducted with due regard to a high level of safety including: Ensuring all activities undertaken comply with applicable OH&S laws; Ensuring all activities comply with Company OH&S policies and procedures; Ensuring all safety incidents are reported and followed up using Company OH&S procedures. Skills & Experience: The qualifications and skills required for this role will encompass a wide range of attributes, including: Tertiary qualification, trade qualification or equivalent - preferred. Major in Computer Science and Engineering is required. 3 years' experience in the Rail industry Safety systems equipment and environment Experience in ETCS or CBTC deployment is preferred Experience in system integration, testing and commissioning roles Experience with test automation tools or scripts (e.g. Python) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools Knowledge of CENELEC standards Knowledge of planning and budget estimation At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
