Position Summary

Title: Innkeeper

Location: Historic Bed and Breakfast Properties (Three locations) in St. Augustine, Florida

Accountable to: General Manager / Owner

Position Start Date: 1 to 2 weeks

Job Description:

Seeking full time multifaceted Innkeeper for our busy bed and breakfast properties in historic district of St. Augustine. The Innkeeper is responsible for the upkeep and presentation of the Inn as well as being the point of contact for all guests where he/she will deliver impeccable customer service. It is imperative that we have Innkeepers that are multi-functional, detail oriented in their responsibilities to the Inn and its guests.

Top responsibilities of the Innkeeper:

• To make sure that the guests have a positive experience and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by being highly engaged with guests.
• Check guests in and out, greet guests upon arrival and departure.
• Knowledgeable of the city and surrounding area along with recommendations for attractions, restaurants and services.
• Complete any tasks given to them by ownership or the general manager that is for the benefit of the Inn and its employees.
• Must be prepared to work all shifts and have a flexible schedule (mornings and evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays)
• Must be able to serve plated breakfast; replenish coffee and juice efficiently while engaging with guests.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Delivering impeccable customer service to all guests in person, via phone, and email.
• Responsible for appeasing the guest's needs during their stay such as; Inn information, visitor information, directions, making dinner reservations, beverages, room amenities, and any other request that is within reason.
• Be well-versed in or learn the Inn’s reservation system, methods of payment, Gmail, Microsoft Office, G Suite documents, Third party booking platforms like Expedia/Booking.com, etc.
• Be knowledgeable about all packages and upgrades provided by the Inn, including weddings, elopements, vow renewals, and packages.
• Making sure that all public areas are clean and presentable to guests
• In the case of either a staff shortage or if the housekeeper needs assistance, it is the duty of the Innkeeper to aid the housekeeper in stripping the unoccupied rooms of sheets, towels, and garbage in order for the housekeeper to turnover the rooms in a timely manner.
• It is the responsibility of the Innkeeper to be knowledgeable about the weddings and events and to encourage any interested prospective guests to book with the Inn.
• The Innkeeper will also be responsible for making sure that the contracts for these events are signed within days of the guests booking the wedding.
• The Innkeeper will also make sure that all the necessary items displayed in the contract and wedding or event description are available and ready for use well before the wedding or event takes place.
• The Innkeeper will be responsible for setting up and breaking down the wedding set-up and decorations.

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as an Innkeeper, Guest Services Representative in a Hotel/Inn/Bed and Breakfast/Resort/Spa or similar hospitality operation
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences and high satisfaction levels
• Must have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease
• Comfortable assisting guests and enthusiastic about their travel experience
• Must be able to easily ascend/descend stairs as the Inn has 3 stories and no elevator
• Great people skills, self-motivation and an outgoing personality
• A desire to bring new ideas to the table and constantly improve/raise the bar
• Excellent attention to cleanliness, quality and an eye for details
• Possession or ability to obtain ServeSafe Certification within 30 days of employment
• Complete Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking Training within 30 days of employment

Note: As our properties are in heart of downtown employees may be required to park on Street or nearby public parking most of the time.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
