Second Shift
Kenworth is adding a second shift Diesel Technician to our busy location. We have been serving as Ohio's premier Kenworth Class 6, 7, and 8 truck dealership for 60 years. We offer a large selection of new and used road tractors, semi-trucks, day cabs, dump trucks, box trucks, flatbed trucks, expeditors, sleeper trucks, tractor-trailers, and more. We are a one-stop resource for trucks from all points within Ohio. We are seeking a skilled technician who is able to perform diagnostics and repairs in all areas in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair, and who have previously worked as a B Class general service technician.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Diesel Mechanic is a key growth position within our company. You will be performing a broad spectrum of truck/trailer maintenance, diagnosis, and repair. Maintaining and building new relationships while identifying additional sales opportunities will play an integral part in your success.
What you’ll need:
· Performs work as outlined on a Repair Order in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
· Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs.
· Communicates with Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
· Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or, if requested by the customer.
· Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
· Communicates with Service Advisor if additional work is needed, or if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
· Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
· Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
· Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
· Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
· Operates tools and equipment in a safe manner.
· Reports safety issues to management.
· Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
· Keeps shop area neat and clean.
· Abides by the company Drug Free Policy.
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
High school diploma or GED
Basic math and computer skills
REQUIREMENTS
- Education or experience with Diesel engines
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic personal computer skills including Microsoft
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
- Ability to access via steps, upper-level parts storage area.
- Must be able to operate a forklift once necessary operator’s license is obtained.
