VP, Management Reporting Lead Analyst

The primary focus of the Risk Data, Analytics, Reporting and Technology (DART) team is to provide complex and comprehensive risk management information in an accurate, timely and reliable manner to risk managers, senior management and the Board of Directors. The team has access to vast amounts of data across Citi, including outputs from quantitative models, to produce analytics, visualizations, analysis and reports. The team, an integral part of Chief Risk Officer's broader organization, interacts with Finance, Quantitative Modeling, Technology, Business Units (such as Capital Markets, Consumer Credit Cards), Audit, and other areas across the firm.

The Enterprise Risk Reporting team, within Risk Management Reporting and Data Analytics, prepares and analysis data related to the firm-wide risk capital, risk appetite, capital adequacy, stress testing, enterprise concentration risk management and risk/return decisions while shaping and driving the implementation of long-term strategic risk monitoring and management framework.

The Risk Reporting Senior Manager will be tasked with leading and controlling the production of various

risk metrics related to enterprise risk: internal stress testing, risk capital, enterprise concentration risk management and/or executive reports showcasing a broad current state of internal risk metrics.

The Senior Manager integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area and contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince internal and external stakeholders for the group. Has responsibility for ensuring that the preparation and aggregation of risk data is done in line with BCBS-239 principles. Finally, the Risk Reporting Senior Manager may have responsibility for management of people, budget

and planning and other related duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, designs and controls regular and time-sensitive analytics, visualizations and reports to the risk managers, senior management, and regulators, with close collaboration with risk managers in the area of expertise.
  • Utilize visual analytics platforms such as Tableau to automate existing reporting processes and quickly embark on new reporting with a strategic automation based mindset while collaborating effectively with technology and other risk partners on creating effective data structures.
  • Responsibilities will be mainly spread across the following: BAU activities in creating production reports that need to be done every month/quarter. Responsibility will be from acquiring data from one or more systems, joining/transforming data and then creating executive level presentation output using a combination of internal and external tools like: Tableau, MicroStrategy, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Executive ad-hoc reports and analyses for senior risk and finance management, internal audit, external audit and regulators
  • Working with partners in risk, finance, technology to enhance current production processes by writing business requirements, doing user acceptance testing and ensuring control procedures, training materials are kept up to date.
  • Willing and able to make an impact by working on critical time sensitive reporting requests that can have a deadline ranging from a few hours to EOD (End of Day) from senior management while ensuring that the highest quality of data accuracy, insight and presentation quality is maintained.
  • Work through ambiguity and logjams on risk reporting enhancement projects by helping create and sell a vision/prototype of the end-product and proactively influence, propose solutions to key stakeholders in Technology, Risk, Finance to drive progress.
  • Potential to manage team of one or more analysts in same or remote location carrying out all responsibilities from hiring, training and day to day management and prioritization of tasks.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years relevant experience in executive management reporting, data analytics preferably in the finance/risk area of a large bank/financial services firm. Experience working in Risk preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access. Skills in data, analytics, databases, data quality are desired; experience in visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and interests in finance, markets, risk management and economics
  • Strong executive presence, ability to think on the spot and proven experience in creating senior executive level presentations with optimum formatting and layouts.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
  • Master's degree in science, engineering; or finance, economics; or related analytical fields is a plus
  • Industry certifications related to Risk/Finance e.g. FRM, CFA is a plus
