Line of Business Role Description
The Data Risk Lead sits within the Global Market Operations Risk Function providing management and oversight of data standards adherence across Global Market Operations. This role will institute and maintain strong routines in support of the Core Operations functions for Global Market Operations. This position is highly visible and requires frequent interaction with Senior Management and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
> Ensure GMO is compliant with the data management policy and associated standards including implementation of ongoing routines
> Support data risk lead function globally for GMO Risk Initiatives
> Work with all the GMO LOBs to ensure requirements are communicated, understood and routines implemented to ensure GMO compliance
> Support the required Governance and Oversight process including (but not limited to) metrics, QA, roles and responsibilities. This will include working closely with Global Operations and the Compliance EAC/policy team.
> Ad hoc input into related data risk issues relating to adherence to data standards.
> Input into the GMO Records Oversight routines, on an ad hoc basis
> Work with GCOR on points of clarification including understanding regional differences in requirements
> Carry out QA and governance routines in line with GO direction to ensure in compliance with data policy
> Act as centralized point of contact for GMO on any data related issues; working with functional risk leads to ensure requirements are understood and any identified gaps remediated
> Propose best practice and support implementation of newly established routines including communication and training within GMO.
> Design and implement metrics and reporting
> Key liaison point with Global Operations, EAC for record management
> Support ongoing Risk initiatives over data and records compliance
Required Skills:
* Knowledge of Global Market Operations or similar operational organization and/or experience in the oversight of operational risk relating to data management controls would be an advantage
* Experience in running ad hoc risk initiatives across the full project lifecycle inc. setting out requirements, agreeing timelines and monitoring through to completion
* Understanding of the data management life cycle including capture, transport, Use and External Data Transmission would be preferable
* Excellent communications skills and ability to present to a senior audience. Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to work under pressure in a team environment including oversight of audit and exam requests relating to data and records
* Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds to ensure a consistent approach to data policy application
* Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Candidate will be able to manage own time and know when to escalate
* Previous experience within a risk, regulatory compliance or audit function would be an advantage
* Ability to understand policy and regulatory requirements across different global jurisdictions
